Furniture...Finally!
The time has come, we can now start turning our new house into a home! Daniel and I didn't have much space to call our own before, so we basically just brought a bed set and a couple couches into the new house. Needless to say, we had some space to fill!
It took us a couple months of pre-planning and window shopping to decide what pieces would look best, and we waited until we were in the house to know exactly what we wanted. Conveniently, we moved over Labor Day weekend, so we took advantage of the sales and made our furniture purchase just a couple days after we moved in. We ended up purchasing a sectional sofa and love seat, a large entertainment center for the living room, and a kitchen table. We've been waiting and waiting for the furniture to come in (and eating our dinners criss-cross-applesauce on the kitchen floor—yes, even with guests over), and finally—it's here. Now that it's all set up, we can begin the decorating process... this is the fun part!
We still have a couple pieces to pick up—an office desk, an entertainment center for the bonus room, a couple end tables—but overall, it's happening. Finally.

3 years into marriage...and we still don't really own any furniture. Or a house, and that's probably why we don't have furniture, but one of these days that may come! You guys are really settling in, I bet everything's going to look great when it all comes together!
So exciting! Can't wait to see pictures of the new place! :)
Yay can't wait to see more!

congrats! that is so exciting
We did criss cross applesauce for quite a while as we renovated our home too. I've got pictures of us sitting on a Christmas blanket, eating our fish and chips in the midst of painting and reflooring, in sweaty tanks shorts and tees.

"True love is sharing your french fries with your husband."
We each had a fry in our mouths, then decided to share the other end too.
(No make up, stinky painting clothes, a blanket on the floor and we dined anyways.)
It's starting to. It feels good to finally have something to our name. Everyone times things differently, so you guys will make it happen someday. Right now if you're happy, that's all that matters!
I can't wait to decorate so we can share little pieces here and there :)
Thank you! I know... just a sneak peek... couldn't show too much because it's just not done yet ;)
Thanks so much, Aunt Linda! I think you would really like our place. The best way I describe it is "rustic." :)
That's what I've been doing! I've been cleaning/cooking/cleaning/cooking non stop waiting to decorate! :)
I can't wait, either! We still have so much to do. We just started putting up some vases and plants... can't wait to slowly do it as time goes by :)
I'm excited too. We have been picking up little things here and there, putting little touches on things. I wish it would go faster, but it's fun to take our time.
Thanks! We can't wait until we are finally finished... it will probably take months. Are we slow or what?
Ha! That's so fun! I love that. We have been making all sorts of dinners and it's so funny to do that and then sit on a cold tile floor. It's so nice to have a kitchen table. I love the photo you shared :)
I am sure. It seems really really exciting. Are you decorating for Halloween or Thanksgiving? Or are you waiting for the wonderful Christmas Time?
You know, I think we are planning on doing a bit of festive fall decor with pumpkins, but nothing specific for Halloween. We're not big Halloween people, but we love Thanksgiving. This year for Christmas, we're chopping down our very own tree!
I love Halloween. I would decorate (not yucky but cute) but I don't have my own place yet. Simply pumpkins sounds nice, and they double for Thanksgiving. WOW chopping your own tree! I have never done that or heard of people doing that. I want to but stupid florida. One day. I am sure you will blog about that. ;] I can't wait to read it.
haha. Your so funny, you can turn a blog post from anything. I didn't know that about Boise, interesting.
That pillow looks super cute! Wish we could see a better view. ;)
I'm working on it... we're still putting the finishing touches on our decor... and then I'll do a bit more here and there :)
