City of Trees Marathon Portrait

Today is the day... the City of Trees Marathon!

Earlier this week, one of my good friends, Hannah, sent me this beautiful piece that she drew and painted for me & my mom to commemorate our race. Isn't it so sweet? Go visit Hannah's blog and say hello, she is the nicest person. Hannah, thank you so much. This is such a special piece that I will be always treasure!

We begin running at 8:00 am... it's going to be such a great race. Catch up with us on Instagram for race results and some fun post-race photos!

Lovely picture, so nice of Hannah to send it. Congrats to you and your mom! I love this. I wish my son would run with me. I'm sure you are relaxing and feeling pretty good about yourselves about now. Great job on the training. I am horrible at training, and although I finished my first marathon, I could have done better if I trained properly. So happy for you!!

Congratulations on completing and the great finish time! I was praying for you this morning that you'd both be injury-free, and have a great run. How did it feel?

So proud! You've got to feel so accomplished. I have a hard time running a mile, but following your training does inspire me to get into better shape! :)

Isn't she so talented? It was such a sweet thing to do. Have you ever read Hannah's blog?

Thanks a bunch, Kristin! I know... can't wait to frame it!

Thanks so much, Wendy! A full marathon is a HUGE accomplishment, no matter how fast it is run. You are great for doing one. Any chance your son may run with you someday? Thanks again for your happy thoughts!

You're so sweet! You're gonna rock your big race, I'm loving your training updates!

It was aweseome. My injuries didn't come back at all, but I did have some left heel pain during the race, and I lost all feeling in my feet around mile 21. Today my thighs, core and feet are rather sore... but I'm alive and we did it! Thanks again for your prayers :)

That's so sweet of you to say, Amanda! We aren't all runners, so I think that your running a mile is great- no matter how fast you go! Slowly but surely, you can go farther... but that's only if you want. After yesterdays run, I never want to run again! HA~

We were very exicted, too :) Thanks so much Amanda! My mom's goal was 4:20-4:30... so we were very happy!

He says 'some day'. We walk together, etc. I'm holding hopes for the future run together, even a 5K.

Thanks again Kimberly. If you want to race, just start slow and short, working your way up. I believe in you!
