Tonight... I'm going camping! I have never been camping before and tonight... I'm doing it!
I have slept in a tent one or two times before, but never have I ever experienced the true joy of camping out, sleeping in a cozy trailer (with an actual BED!), waking up to the birds and a freshly-cooked omelette, or anything quite that "outdoorsy" in my whole life. And if you don't think that sleeping in a trailer is outdoorsy, let's just say that my family's version of "camping" while growing up was checking into a hotel & lounging by the pool. So, YES, this is outdoorsy for me.
We are going to see "South Pacific" at the Starlight Mountain Theatre and then camping in a remote location in the mountains of Idaho, so I won't be able to share any fun photos via Instagram, but I will be taking a few photos of this introductory trip, so come back Monday to see how I fared. Truth be told, considering that we have a trailer, it's not like we're roughing it, so I'm rather thrilled about the whole adventure. And even if we were roughing it, I'm fairly certain I'd do just fine.

Ooo! Have fun! I've done the camper thing a few times with my grandparents when I was a kid. I've never done the tent thing, but I think a camper is a great way to go.

The greatest joy of camping is a bonfire and s'mores.
Stephen lives them with Reese's Peanut Butter Cups instead of Hershey Bars. Either way, you can't go wrong! And sitting there together watching the fire die and just talking is also a really great bonding experience. I. Love. Camping! You're going to have so much fun!!!
I haven't camped yet this summer and I'm aching to. You will enjoy it!! You can't beat the bonfire and the food over the fire! And waking up early with the sun is something fun to experience on a camping trip. Enjoy!

It doesn't look like we have any rain in the forecast, but there is TONS of smoke due to the Idaho wildfires happening right now. Hope it isn't too strong ;)

I almost almost put in there a little bit about how it doesn't matter WHAT we do while camping, as long as we have s'mores! I bet they're SO good with Reese's! We are going up with another family from church, so it should be a great time all together :) But once, just once, would love to just go with Daniel ;)

WOW! I am jealous of you now. I would love to do that. I went "camping" in a KOA cabin in TN, once day I will blog about but that was 3 years ago so it's been awhile. I can't wait to see your photos. Hope you have TONS of fun and see lots of animals. =]

You're going to have so so much fun!!! This past spring break we rented a trailer and stayed at Disneys Fort Wilderness and it was the best vacation I have ever taken! I can't wait to hear how it goes!!! Is there perhaps another video in our future?? ;) have fun and stay safe!! <3
South Pacific is such a fun show, you will love it!! I'm pretty partial to camping myself, so I'm sure you will love that too. My advice is: baby wipes!! Unless you have a shower, in which case...you call yourself a camper...haha have a wonderful time!!

how have you never been camping-- growing up in wash. and then living in idaho? I hope you have SO much fun-- i haven't been able to camp this summer, which is lame, but i really love it.
Oh yes and double yes on the animals! We saw 3 deer last time we were up at Starlight, so I'm looking forward to this time!

You know, I was trying to decide if I should do a video or photos... still haven't picked, but the videos are SO FUN! Most likely it will just be photos since it's just a short trip, but you never know!

I am just not sure. We moved a lot when I was a kid, and my dad is NOT a camping dude. At all. I think that's where it comes from :) He loves his hotel rooms!
Haha your family's version of camping is pretty much mine too ;) I used to go with my church in high school, but I haven't been since! My husband's family keeps trying to convince us to come with them, but I just don't think I can do it...you'll have to let us know how you like it! I'm just a little too high maintenance to go "real" camping I guess... Hope you have fun!
Well I'll let you know how the whole family thing is. We are going with Daniel's family, so it will be 5 of us sleeping in their trailer... at least Daniel & I get our own bed! the way that your family camped is exactly how my family camped. But my style of camping changed once I met my fiancé and he somehow convinced me to sleep in a tent. and now I'm addicted. :) have fun, lady!

Priya, I have to tell you. We didn't end up having a shower at our first campsite, and your baby wipe suggestion saved me! I brought Yes To's wipes, and used them for my face and body. It was AMAZING and the only way to go without a shower. Thank you so much again!
That's sounds like so much fun!! I love camping with my family...although we do it in tents. =)
I really really want to try a tent next time, even if we're just planted by the camper!
