BOI to SEA
This is probably my favorite week of the entire year. I love the 4th of July and all the festivities that come along with it. We're from Seattle (lived there for 6 years), and I grew up playing on Maxwelton Beach on Whidbey Island in Washington where my grandparents owned a home right on the beach. The photo above was taken from the beach off their backyard (though the photo credit goes to my brother-in-law Andy). Every summer after we moved away, it was always our goal to make it back for the 4th to visit our family, enjoy the Maxwelton Parade, participate in the egg toss and I always had to run—and win, of course—the tiny park races.
Daniel and I take off today for our Washington trip. We'll bunk with my sis tonight (who lives right off Green Lake), head up to Whidbey tomorrow to see the rest of my extended family and enjoy the holiday, and go back to Seattle to give Daniel the grand tour of the city over the weekend. If you happen to live in Seattle or near South Whidbey and see two ladies in matching running gear, you can bet it will be me & my mom doing our marathon training while on vacation.
While we're away, you can keep up with us on Instagram and Twitter... Washington, here we come! See you guys next week!
PS // will you take 2 seconds to vote for me? Click HERE, like the page (it's a local credit union), and then give me 5 stars! My father-in-law took the photo (see the post here) & it would make his day—and mine, of course—if we won!
