Casual Office Outfit & A Birthday Recap
This outfit, though nothing to write home about, is my "just woke up—need to get to the gym—throw it in the gym bag" office outfit. Skinny black pants, a light tank and a cardigan—oh, and don't forget the messy bun and glasses. It's simple and it's comfortable for sitting at a desk or moving around the office. I'm so fortunate that I work in a flexible office environment where just about anything goes.
Oh—and yesterday's celebration for Daniel's Birthday was amazing. He said he just wanted to grill at home with family, but I ended up inviting over about 30 of our friends & family members... for a surprise party! It was awesome. He was home when people started arriving and every time the door opened and a new face appeared, he got a bigger and bigger grin on his face. He was totally surprised and we ended up with a giant potluck house party. It was wonderful. A big thanks to all our friends who came over!

Love it! My work's dress code is pretty professional, but I've been told "business/casual", so I pretty much push the limit as far as I can go. haha!
Yay for a surprise party! That's so thoughtful, I'll bet he just loved it.
Oh, I do too. We are technically business casual as well, and I've been trying to dress nicer lately. It's hard to be motivated when I'm tucked in an office upstairs and have no contact with anyone!
Do it! I'm glad you liked the idea... it just kind of happened. And let me tell you what, he had no idea because everyone brought food and we had the burgers and steaks hidden away in the freezer... he never suspected a thing!
What a fun idea for a surprise party, love that!

That's actually really cute to have a surprise party with the guest of honor already there while people arrive. I really like that. I'm using that. Okay? Okay good.
