BAPTIZED.
A little over a year ago, I was saved and became a Christian. Tonight—February 28, 2013—amidst a small group of our family and friends, Daniel and I were baptized together by our pastor.
Being baptized was the one fundamental step I had yet to take. Daniel was baptized when he was a child, and it has been something we've wanted to do together. On Sunday, our pastor and his wife found out I hadn't yet done it, and this week when they offered to do it—we jumped at the chance. We gathered at a friend's pool (indoor, of course), and together we were baptized.
What an amazing experience to affirm our faith in front of our brothers and sisters, to repent our past, and to begin anew. I am so thankful, so honored—so blessed.

That is so awesome! It truly is such an incredible experience to be baptized. I am praying for you that your walk with Christ grows stronger every day! Proud of you!
It's so beautiful that you guys did it together. I have been wanting to get baptized for a long time, so I can't wait to take that step myself one day.
YAYYYYYYY! Congrats my friend!

Awesome!! I was baptized last year at the Easter Vigil. Then both were baptized when K got home from Afghanistan. Just curious, what religion are you that you can be baptized twice?

I am so proud of you, and happy for you!! Coming up from the water is an indescribable feeling, and I am so happy that you got to experience that with your loved ones surrounding you, and supporting you! I don't even know if I have the words to describe what that experience is like, or how happy I am for you! All I can say is big hugs and many blessings friend!
That is so beautiful and wonderful! I love that you did it with your husband, too. What a way to show that God is the tie that binds you two together. So happy for you!
You're so great! :) Way to go! Praying for you!
Absolutely beautiful! Living life with Jesus is so amazing. And getting baptized by water is such a beautiful symbol of the new life we have in Christ. I'm so happy for you and your husband!
Beautiful!! What a wonderful day for you and Daniel. So happy for you both!
Love this! And that's awesome that you and Daniel were baptized together!
:D My hubby had been baptized before we met and I was seriously thinking about it. When he was making plans to visit for our 1 year anniversary, I'd planned my baptism for the Sunday of his stay. My bestie flew in from Colorado. My grammas flew in from SoCali and Minnesnowta. He proposed on our one year of meeting up in person anniversary. Almost to the minute of us meeting! (He'd timed it so he could ring his parents and tell them I said yes, and they could hand out our engagement party invitations!) The first official thing as an engaged woman, I got baptized.
congratulations! what a great step forward in your faith (new reader). what a cherished moment that you could do it together!
So many hugs to you! How amazing to be able to be baptized with your husband. Love to you both!

I just watched 27 baptisms last Sunday at Calvary Chapel and it was so great to hear everyone's story! I hope that God continues to bless both of you in your walk!

That is so awesome! I literally got chills reading this. I think it's such an important part of your marriage to have the same faith and to lean on one another when the times get tough. Congratulations on this huge step in your lives together and most importantly in your relationship with the Lord. Also getting to get baptized together is just awesome, I'm so happy for y'all and the step you've just taken! xoxo

JOY!
AH-MAZING!!! I am so proud of you both, Aunie! Publicly professing your faith through baptism is a wonderful experience, and a great way to say to God, yourself, and your church community, "Today, I wash my old selfish self away and will start living my life for God's glory, not my own." What a great way to reaffirm your faith and strengthen your bond as a couple :) LOVE!
What an AMAZING opportunity?! Aren't you so very grateful that we are created new in the sight of God!? I was just saved and baptized this fall. I am so utterly grateful for Christ and all that he did on our behalf. Thanks for sharing your story!!!

Christian. As an affirmation of renewed and committed faith, it's OK to go more than once :)
That is incredibly beautiful and amazing. Congratulations, and here's to a beautiful life ahead!
Thanks Stephanie! I'm so happy to have you. You'll see, there's a lot up my sleeve, and faith is a BIG part of it :)
Thanks Lauren! My friend was there and snapped them with her phone. We had another friend capture both baptisms by video. What a blessing to have those memories!
Thanks, Kiki! I almost *almost *didn't share it... but figured, HEY, this is THE SAUCE and you guys should know that I'm taking this huge step! There's always a balance when thinking about what to/not to share... but this was on my list of musts because it's just so important to us :)
Thanks a bunch, Kelsey! What a fun day for you to stop by! I'll go say hi to you now ;)
Congrats! I was saved last March. IT's been a journey... but the BEST kind :) So happy to have you in the Family!
You'll know when it's your time, Katie! Thank you SO MUCH for your support!
Thanks Heather! Doing it publicly and in front of all our friends was HUGE. I didn't expect it to be that wonderful!
thank you so much, Becca. You're so right, this is SO IMPORTANT for our marriage. It's just the beginning!
I love those big baptism parties... or at least I think of them like a party :)
That's exactly what it was like. Thanks Meighan!
Woop woop, that's right, sister! Thanks!
Anything, and ALL THESE AMAZING COMMENTS mean so much. Thanks Elle!
It is so amazing. Life changing? YES! I love this beginning foundation.
Thanks friend! Wish you could have been there. I love that we're all part of God's (and Harvest's) family!
That's amazing. Can't wait for you to take that step--when it's right for you, of course!
So, your question also got me thinking. I was looking around, and loved the viewpoint of this girl, who wrote a blog post about it. http://cbgrace.wordpress.com/2008/03/25/multiple-baptisms/ I love that baptism is a symbol of faithful service. What a cool thing that you guys got to do it together, too!
Congrats girl! I'm still planning my special baptism. Our youngest son wants to do it with me. :)
Congrats!! I remember my day and it was more than special. Congrats!!
That will be SUCH a special thing. What a blessing that God is working in both your lives!
Congratulations! Baptisms are such beautiful times! Praise the Lord. <3

Beautiful!
Aw, thanks so much, Devin. It was, literally, the best day :)
Just found this post from your 2013 recap post. What a beautiful experience to share! I have never been baptized. My husband is Catholic and I am attending the RCIA program there. I will be baptized, have my first communion and be confirmed at the Easter Eve mass. It's been such a wonderful experience. I have a "godparent" who attends the RCIA classes with me each week and it has truly been a blessing in my life.
Oh how wonderful! Just a few short months to go for you. Very, very exciting. IT's such a refreshing and renewing feeling! You'll love it ;)
