As you may, or may not know,
I have another blog called Bye Bye Beehive
where I post tons of hairstyles and basically just
talk about...
HAIR.
Last week, I posted a style about how to curl your hair without heat.
It got such a great response that I wanted to share it with you...
As a disclaimer, my hair is fine and has normal texture.
It's naturally very straight.
It tends to do what I want it to do and holds curl very well...
with that being said—

Last week, I saw a post on my friend Kristen's blog
(Confessions of a Graphic Design Student).
She mentioned how she vintage-style curled her hair with a headband...
with NO heat.
Needless to say, I had to try it.
I began by putting a fairly tight elastic headband over my slightly damp hair.
I grabbed pieces of my hair and tucked them around the headband,
continuing until I reached the back of my head.
It's really similar to the Holiday Updo that I did in December.
When I reached the back, I simply twisted that hair around and around
the headband until it was all tucked in.
Daniel said I looked like Friar Tuck.
So this is the "Friar Tuck Method" now and forever in my eyes.
I should also add that in order to prevent the headband from slipping
and my hair falling out,
I also wrapped a silk scarf over my head,
like I did in this post.
I slept in my headband overnight.
In the morning, I pulled the headband out of my hair and was
SHOCKED at the curls I got.
Wowza, baby!
They stayed like that almost all day.
Of course they fell out a bit... but I didn't mind.
UPDATE // And just in case you'd like to see how to do this,
I included my very own video tutorial (the original inspiration tutorial can be found here).
Enjoy!
Oh... and just last night after my shower,
I mentioned to Daniel that I was going to "Friar Tuck" my hair again.
His reaction was so adorable, and clearly showed that he found
that sleep-in style NOT attractive.
I opted for two French braids instead.
Sexy.

It turned out so well for you! Unfortunately, I can't let my hair air dry without product. Otherwise, my frizz comes out to play BIG TIME! But you look so lovely!

Totally just laughed out loud at the "Friar Tuck Method." That's awesome! And hey, sometimes you just have to look like a middle aged cartoon character for a little while to get beautiful results later! Nice job, looks great!
Gorgeous! Definitely giving this a try :-)
Hey Aunie. Just wanted to let you know I tagged you! Check it out!

This is cute! If I did it, though, I would look like Shirley Temple. My hair is just too prone to curly curls!
I tried this not too long ago and had great results as well! With my hair all tucked in, it looked a little bit like princess leia buns from the front. My boyfriend was super into it! Haha.
I loovvee this. I'm definitely going to try it out tonight!
First off, I had no idea about your other blog.. awesome idea. Secondly - I would love to try this, your hair looks gorgeous!

Wow that is a really cool trick! I can't believe I watched that whole video! Lol. I should really try this someday. My hair is so stick straight, so it'd be fun to see if I could get it to curl. ;)
This might be my favorite blog post ever. Of any blog.
My hubby LOVES it when I curl my hair. I can't be bothered to do any sort of styling, whatsoever. So when I saw this post...I was like "Could this be true?!?"
Thanks so much for sharing!!!
