"Beauty Comes From Within."
This is a beautiful statement.
It's one that most women, and men, don't seem to understand.
Today was my first venture to a thrift store.
I ended up snagging 5 sweaters, a button-up shirt, and a skirt for $30.
Bonus.
But why did I do it?
Because for some reason I keep telling myself that I need to be fashionable.
Like Sydney from The Daybook. Or Ashley from The Shine Project..
Or one of my favorites, Sarah, from Frills 4 Thrills.
But I'm just not fashionable.
Seriously. I'm not.
And it's not like buying a whole bunch of new clothing is going to make me beautiful anyway,
right?
What makes me beautiful is ME.
Yes, me... no makeup, fresh out of the shower, all cozy and snuggly -- ME.
My funny Chiclet-shaped teeth.
My right eye that seems to be slightly lazy and always more closed than the left.
My so-curly-they-touch-my-eyelids lashes.
My hair that is growing brunette roots by the minute.
My sparse eyebrows (which I shadow in every day) as a result from my trichotillomania.
My little lips that curl up at the corners, giving me a smile that never goes away.
But most importantly, my spunk, vivacity and zest for life.
Here I am, world.
